If you don't already read the blog: Newlyweds: Exploring the Joys of Marriage, you need to go check it out.  She does a great series called "Meet the Newlyweds."  I love reading the stories of how other couples met and their adventures in learning how to be a good husband and wife duo.

Go check it out today because Jason and I are the featured couple!

She also has the cutest twin boys ever...go check out their precious pics!!!  Hope you are having a great day.

Living Guilt Free

I am so excited to announce that I am officially done with school!  I finally earned my MBA after 2 years!!!  It actually flew by and I could not have done it without the support of my husband, family, my boss Sarah, and partner in crime/fellow graduate, Ashley!  The ceremony is Saturday, but we are DONE.

Now I can watch TV or read a book without that feeling of guilt sitting on my shoulders that I should be doing homework!

Put a "P" on It

I already have a ring on it, so now I want everything to have a P on it.  I guess since I am super excited to really "own" my new last name, I am LOVING anything for the home monogrammed with a P.  We now have a monogrammed welcome mat, stationary and hand towels.  My new want is the Printer's Letter Stand from Anthropologie, $23.00.  Cute right?  You can pick them up at any Anthrpologie store or online HERE

Homework update:  Finished the boring book, Leadership is an Art  (book review not coming soon!)today in the car.  Just one more page to write of this paper...decided to blog instead of finish it.  Tomorrow-persuasive speech that I am giving Monday night.

Book Review: Fall to Pieces

I just finished Fall to Pieces: A Memoir of Drugs, Rock'n'Roll and Mental Illness by Mary Forsberg Weiland.

(I just want to put out that I am supposed to be finishing and writing and paper on the boring book,  Leadership is an Art, but here I am instead, writing this).

I was drawn to read this book because of the author.  Mary Forsberg Weiland is the ex-wife of Scott Weiland, the lead singer of Stone Temple Piliots and Velvet Revolver.  I have been a fan of Scott and his music for years...first falling in love with "Interstate Love Song" in junior high.  For those of you who don't know, besides being a music genius, Scott is also a drug addict.  Throughout his career, he has been in and out of jail, rehab and many band breakups and reunions.  I have only had the pleasure of seeing him in concert once (with STP), but it easily is one of the most memorable...epic even.

Occasioanlly in the news, I would hear abour his girlfriend, later turned wife entering rehab, the beautiful model and mother of his two children.  Unfortunatly, her modeling career doesn't seem to be her claim to fame.  She received far more headlines from the night she had a mental breakdown and torched $80,000 worth of her husband's clothes on their driveway of thier California home.

Almost three years later, Mary releases this book to tell her story, about living with drug addiction and bipolar disorder, her realtionship wtih Scott and everything in between.  A sad book with an uplifing message.  I highly recommend this book to anyone who has ever dealt with addiction, mental illness, or any fans of the music.  I could not put this book down.  I woke up way too early this morning and could not go back to sleep.  Instead I laid there for an hour thinking about the book until I got up to finish it.

Thank you for sharing your life with the world Mary!

Bad Blogger of the Year

Goes to me!  I know, I haven't been blogging lately.  So glad to be back!  So, what have I been up to?  The usual: work, school, etc.  Nothing drastic has happened or anything, I just feel like I haven't had a spare minute and when I do, blogging is the last thing on my mind.

I now just have 2 more weeks left of graduate school!!!  I can't get too excited yet because I have a black cloud of papers and presentations crammed in the next 2 weeks, but I will graduate on December 12.  Not to toot my own horn, but I am really proud of myself.  It is really hard to work full time and get an MBA completed in 2 years.  Not to mention that during that time, Jason and I got engaged, planned a wedding, got married and went on a honeymoon!

Besides school, work has been crazy!  I have been recruiting out of town and around Houston, planning and hosting events, and have even added new roles to my position like working with the school's Greek life.

My stepsister got married in Oklahoma last weekend (that post coming soon), Jason and I have been working on the house, and we try to get some rest in between everything else.

Jason has been working harder than ever wtih the resort.  He gets up at 4am almost every morning to work, leaves the house around 6am and then doesn't get home until about 7pm...sometimes working when he gets home!

No one can accuse us of being lazy!  We also celebrated our 1-year engagement anniversary on November 8.  We were too busy to actually celebrate, but we pretty much celebrate everyday that we have together.  Right now we are in Jason's hometown for Thanksgiving-coming home tomorrow.

We hope everyone has many things to be thankful for this year.  We certainly do!  We are so thankful for our amazing families, great friends, jobs, and of course, Tucker and each other.  So happy to be back to the blog.

Love,
Chelsea
